Desiderata Festival 2010

The Tribe is calling - the Desiderata Tribe. Prepare for a 5 day spectacle of electronic jams, visual and performing arts, independent films, yoga, and camping in the beautiful Catskill Mountains of upstate New York. Desiderata features musicians, DJs, and artists from around the world crossing a variety of genres.

In addition to music and arts, festival-goers can also participate in wellness workshops, yoga, drum circles, campfires, tribal dances, World Cup match viewings, and interactive art exhibits.

Notable acts included Alex B (of Pnuma Trio), Juno Reactor, Future Rock, Talamasca, and dozens more.

Even more exciting! Base Trip Records' electronic wizard, Supersillyus, will be playing at the Lost in Sound tent. Friends of Base Trip Records, Wobblesauce, will also perform.

Desiderata will run from June 23-27th at Stone Tavern Farm in Roxbury, NY. Tickets are available through the official website.

Lost In Sound Reviews InfinitiRock's 17Years

InfinitiRock (Chester Anand) has just begun his ascent. This young-but-impressive producer out of Red Hook, NY has just had quite the 18th birthday. After signing with Base Trip Records-an independent label blooming out ofAllston, MA-InfinitiRock officially released his 40-track beat tape to the universe. Experimenting and fusing hip-hop, electronic, and tape music has been his passion since he made his first beat for his older brother to rap over at the age of 5. Before it was even legal for him to buy a pack of smokes, he has already amassed an arsenal of hundreds of beats. Work from artists such as Madlib, J Dilla and Flying Lotus have helped InfinitiRock to become familiar with what makes a small beat have a powerful impact.

"Much like the first few times that I was introduced to Squarepusher or Shpongle, as I listen to Supersillyus’ music I find myself thinking over and over, “Where the fuck did he come up with that sound?!” His debut album,“Grampaspaceshuttle,” is a 15 track wacky-coaster ride through the creative mind of electronic producer Rob Uslan. Uslan grew up inhaling In-N-Out burgers and soaking up the sun in Los Angeles, before spending the past four years training as a wizard-like producer in the Allston neighborhood of Boston. He welds “traditional” IDM, ambient, noise, psytrance, and trip-hop which, as you can imagine, produces a nearly indescribable sound."
